  Outstanding worship experience led by Father James "Jim" Curran. This is the only Basilica (minor) in Virginia and is a beautiful example of late Gothic revival style of parish.

  Starting attending in the mid 40's, was a flower girl in a wedding. Attended a funeral. I loved this church. I quit in the late 50's. Would like to join this beautiful Basilica.

  St. Mary's is the most welcoming church I've been to. Father Jim is inspiring and challenges you to be more Christ-like every service. Everytime I go, it feels like I've come back home.

  St. Mary's is in a poverty-beset area of Norfolk. It is a magnificent church that is truly welcoming to all. Services at 5 on Saturday, 9 on Sunday, or my favorite, noon on Sunday, are all beautiful. The homilist, Father Curran, is inspirational. But the choir, oh the choir! And the witness, just like in black Baptist churches. Whatever your ancestry or color, if you are of the human race, you will be happy in this place. Never boring, always uplifting. (Leave a good donation. This church helps the poorest of the poor.)
